Default Massive Aion server consolidation

Glad I never jumped on this bandwagon. Looks like Aion and Age of Conan can fight for biggest MMO flop.

Pretty poor article. If someone knows of a more in-depth one, I'd like to read. It would also be interesting to hear what the devs have to say.

Eh, Aion sucks, no surprise here. Korean style MMOs are a thing of the past.

Some of the Aion servers are more active than the biggest WoW servers. The merges are happening because on a lot of servers, one faction is dominating and the other one is getting driven to unsub. They're merging so there's more PvP rather than a bunch of PvE lamers taking all the forts and camping them.

fair enough, fenix. It would be nice to get a real report about what's going on, then. On the surface (and how IGN described it), it's something completely different.

Yeah, some of the servers are VERY active, despite appearances. The problem is, on some servers (for example, Nezekan or Vaizel), Elyos are dominating the Abyss with the Asmodians having no chance at PvPing there. The server merges and transfers will allow HUGE numbers of fully geared Asmodians to change to these servers (not Nezekan, unfortunately) and balance it up.

I would be transferring server for the PvP if not for my ping, zzz. They say Vaizel will have a HUGE PvP presence after merges as everyone with a fully geared character will be transferring there.

Fenix is actually right, for instance, while I no longer play the game, my server Telemachus in EU has over 2k people online most of the time and lots of people during the sieges.

It's just that I can't stop myself from thinking "why did I quit?". And then I remember all the terrible gameplay problems I couldn't ignore.

New Zikel Server (East Coast)
Zikel, Triniel, Azphel & Meslamtaeda

4 servers being OWNED by elyos getting merged into one big server.

New Spatalos Server (ENG)
Spatalos & Gorgos

There are little if any asmo resistance on Spatalos, it's mostly elyos dominated, Gorgos is kinda balanced.

Just some examples you know.

Oh I understand that the way they're merging is a bit weird, but if I was asmo, I'd be transferring to the new Zikel instantly. A server comprised of HEAPS of elyos? I'd be over there PvPing all day and night.

It only SOUNDS good. But when a zerg of 100 Elyos attacks your fortress while you have less than 1/3 of that, even well-organized, you will lose.

PTS taught me that. I was an Asmo, about 25-35 of us, against over 80 Elyos.
